Carbonic acid bath (CO2)

It’s a mixture of water and carbonic acid anhydride which is secreted on the skin surface as gas bubbles. Thereby, capillaries and arterial vessels are widened, the blood pressure is lowered and the whole organism calms down. Such baths are especially recommended to diabetes patients, for intensified blood circulation reduces the sugar level, support regeneration and blood supply in the skin and limb tissues alike.

Indications:

  • circulatory disorders
  • some heart diseases
  • degenerative changes
  • obesity
  • neurosis
  • mild hypertension
  • too low blood pressure
  • rheumatic diseases
  • diseases of peripheral vessels
  • diabetes

Therapeutic mud bath

Therapeutic mud is certainly one of the most precious gift which Mother Nature could have ever bestowed on us. It supports the therapy of inflammations, diseases of muscles, bones or joints, and even helps in case of typically female ailments. What is more, after the treatment, your skin becomes velvety soft and pleasant to the touch. Bear in mind that therapeutic mud include first of all a whole range of organic substances such as: humic and fulvic acid, carbohydrates, tannins, bitumen, proteins, resins as well as micro- and macroelements. Quite unique are the oestrogens ingredient, influencing the adrenal glands and stimulating ovaries, which is willingly used to treat female ailments. The therapeutic mud contains also lots of non-organic substances, first of all various salts (iron, calcium, clay). Organic acid and salts provide the mud with astringent, anti-inflammatory, bacteriostatic and antiseptic properties. Therefore, treatments with therapeutic mud regenerate epidermis and damaged tissues as well as stimulate blood supply. Influenced by warmth, the organism expels metabolites which are caught and stopped by the therapeutic mud, having vast absorption properties. Blood circulation is accelerated by warmth and active ingredients peat are absorbed much quicker.

Indications:

  • spine diseases
  • joint inflammations
  • chronic inflammation of intestines
  • peptic ulcer disease
  • inflammations of anus
  • hypertrophy of haemorrhoids and anal fissure
  • cellulite

Sulphuric bath

Such baths are extremely helpful in a whole range of ailments and illnesses, starting with spinal diseases, through all kinds of rheumatic problems up to skin changes. Baths with natural sulphuric brine provide your organism with a wide palette of health-giving substances, e.g. active sulphur compounds as well as macro-and microelements (including: iodine, bromine, boron and fluorine).
Already when immersing in the sulphur brine, you can feel your epidermis become elastic, soft, you skin, even prone to becoming horny, softens very much. Due to its vast anti-bacterial properties, the sulphuric bath is often used in the therapy of dermatological diseases such as seborrhoeic dermatitis and acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and scleroderma.
Sulphuric baths help also in case of problems with reproductive organs, for instance painful menstruations, as well as during and after injuries or overburdening of the locomotor system because they reduce swellings and improve the mobility of joins. They also raise the overall immunity and as all the water treatments do – have also relaxing properties.
Indications:

  • Spinal degenerations
  • Discopathy
  • Neuralgias
  • Sciatica
  • Degenerative diseases of joints
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Rheumatologic inflammation of joints
  • Psoriatic arthritis
  • Skin diseases

Hydrotherapy (cosmetic baths):

1. Bath in goat milk

Bathing in goat milk has been known for ages as a highly effective therapy for beautiful and healthy skin.
Today’s world knows and appreciates the blissful influence of goat milk baths as well. Such therapy allows for a deep, intensive skin care, addressed at dry and sensitive type alike. After this bath, your skin becomes soft, firm and pleasant to the touch, with its natural, healthy colour fully restored.
As a natural cosmetic, goat milk is fully tolerated by skin. Thanks to a whole range of nutrients, vitamins such as A, D, C, PP, B2, B9, B12 and microelements, amongst others calcium, magnesium and zinc, your skin can look glamourous again.

2. Wine bath

Wine therapy is general term comprising all the treatments made with cosmetics, the main ingredient of which are wine polyphenols. Their extract is obtained from wine and skin of red grapes which are left after the finished process of vinification (when wine „is born”). They include the highly concentrated polyphenols (amongst others resveratrol) which combat free radicals, strenghten fibres of collagen and elastin, stimulate the cellular division, have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-allergic properties too.
As far as baths are concerned, particularly recommended are those with extract of alcohol-free red wine characterised by a high amount of polyphenol extract. The wine therapy is an excellent remedy and a strong help against ageing. Polyphenols included in wine have namely anti-oxidative influence on the human organism, which means they lower the level of free radicals and thereby act rejuvenating.
Yet, wine is also used for anti-cellulite treatment. Tannin, one of its ingredients, purifies the blood vessels and stimulates blood circulation. And resveratrol from the grape skin hampers the development of adipose tissue and increases fat burning.

3. Brine bath

The therapeutic brine bath is extremely pleasant. Water enriched with minerals shows a blissful influence not only on the skin and bones, but also the internal organs. It is recommended even to children, especially those dealing frequently with diseases of the respiratory tracts. Brine calms you down, improves your frame of mind. Through the skin receptors and the autonomic nervous system as well as tissue hormones, it causes many topical and general reactions, such as: reduced hypersensitivity of sensory and motor nerves, better blood supply in the skin, normalisation of the blood pressure, healthier heart, better blood circulation, better ventilation of lungs, stimulated metabolism, better diuresis, stronger immune system and strengthened organism.

Indications:

  • chronic diseases of the respiratory tracts and sinuses
  • chronic and degenerative rheumatic changes
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • conditions requiring a stronger immunity
  • convalescence after acute diseases
  • obesity
  • some gynaecological diseases (infertility, vegetative neurosis, menopause, sensile disappearance of sexual organs)
  • some skin diseases (.e.g. psoriasis)
  • recommended to children: during convalescence, in case of chronic diseases of respiratory tracts, allergy including bronchial asthma, neurovegetative disorders, obesity.

1. Cryochamber

Helps to combat pain, accelerates rehabilitation and strengthens the immune system.
Most frequently, the so called cryotherapy is used to treat pain ailments.
The general cryotherapy consists in subjecting the whole body of the patient to extremely low temperatures in a specially constructed room, namely the cryochamber.
One of the most significant effects of cold therapy is the increased perfusion for blood, lasting for several hours, which improves the metabolism, supports the transport of oxygen to muscles, helps to get rid of harmful metabolites (lactates, histamine) as well as increases the concentration of bradykinin and angiotensin. What is more, the strong hyperaemia, better circulation and lymphatic drainage provide cryo-stimulating treatments with anti-oedema properties.
Low temperatures have also a blissful impact on the psyche. The cryochamber treatments improve the frame of mind, bring internal peace, physical relaxation and fight off the fatigue. The comfort of sleep is also reported to have improved over the therapy.
The general cryotherapy causes the reaction of the hormonal system. The hypothalamus – pituitary gland – adrenal cortex axis is stimulated, the concentration of the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), adrenaline, noradrenaline, cortisol and in case of men – also of testosterone – goes up high. The morphological and biochemical composition of blood changes, the level of haemoglobin, number of leucocytes and blood platelets as well as concentration of glucose and creatinine rise but not beyond the norm. Low temperatures have also anti-oxidative properties. It shows as biochemical reactions reducing the influence of free radicals, responsible for amongst others ageing and disappearance of tissues. The stimulating cryotherapy plays a vital role in raising the humoral and cellular immunity, especially through enlarging the number of NK cells (NK – Natural Killer). Furthermore, it has been proven that cryogenic temperatures have a blissful impact on the general fitness of sportsmen as well.

Indications:

  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • ankylosing spondylitis
  • psoriatic arthritis
  • degenerative disease of peripheral joints and the spine
  • fibromyalgia
  • osteoporosis
  • arthritis with accompanying spondylitis
  • inflammation of sinews bursae synovial capsules
  • old damages of joints and soft tissues
  • chronic pain syndromes
  • multiple sclerosis
  • illnesses of the central nervous system with the increased spasticity of muscles
  • illnesses with a psychological base (e.g. depressive syndromes)

2. Lumina lamp

Light stimulates skin receptors which transmit impulses through the nervous system to the hypothalamus, and to put it more precisely, to the pineal gland which activates defence mechanisms and thereby stimulates the production of enzymes and hormones.
The Lumina Lamp is a modern device used for infrared irradiation. It is equipped with an electronical time driver with brightness regulation. The infrared light is well absorbed by the human tissues and causes their warming. In this way, the muscular tension is reduced, blood vessels are widened etc. You can also set various sequences of brightness / duration time within one treatment.

Indications:

  • widening of capillaries (flow of arterial blood through tissues)
  • reduction of nervous tension
  • stimulation of metabolism
  • analgesic properties
  • stimulation of warmth receptors
  • subacute and chronic inflammation of joints
  • contractures scar adhesions
  • muscular pains
  • herpes zoster
  • frostbite
  • acne and rosacea
  • post-burn conditions
  • maxillary sinusitis
  • muscular pains
  • slow-healing wounds

Topical operation consists in the mechanical flow of blood through blood vessels and lymph through lymphatic vessels. Techniques like petting, rubbing, pressing or patting increase the movement of fluids through the vessel system. Friction caused by massages widens blood vessels and thereby increases the blood flow through muscles, accelerates the delivery of nutrients and also getting rid of metabolites. The increased oxygen supply to the cells enlarges the oxygen metabolism in muscles and in this way speeds up the excretion of decay products produced by working muscles.
Better blood flow in the peripheral parts of the body has a positive impact on the heart and kidneys. Through the central operation, the massage stimulates your nervous system which through reflexes and coordination actions of the cerebral cortex can influence all of the organs and systems within the organism. Stimuli transmitted to the brain through nerve fibres cause quicker and more efficient functioning of all the human organs.

A physiotherapeutic treatment used in the process of rehabilitation which influences the cells of magnetic field. Thereby, tissues heal much more quickly and the notion of pain is greatly reduced. What is more, the magnet therapy has also anti-inflammatory properties.

Indications:

  • osteoporosis
  • arterial – rheumatic hypertension
  • skin diseases

Ultrasound machine

The ultrasound therapy goes through the skin surface and affects the body structures deep inside. To put it more precisely, it’s the ultrasound wave (mechanical, acoustic, frequency beyond the human hearing range) which is used mainly in the pain therapy as well as to stimulate regenerative processes in the cells through physiological phenomena caused by thermal and athermal operation (most frequently mechanical).

Indications:

  • reduced mobility of joints caused by contracture of ligaments, fasciae and other similar structures (also contractures caused by scars), anti-inflammatory operation (in the chronic, late phase of the inflammation process)
  • supporting the regenerative processes in the damaged tissues
  • analgesic properties – application in the so called trigger points
  • sinusitis
  • accelerates the healing process of wounds and fractures

Laser therapy apparatus

The low-energetic radiation emitted by laser influences the tissues and causes first of all:

  • better microcirculation
  • stimulation of angiogenesis
  • raising the amplitude of the action potentials of nerve fibres
  • raising the enzyme activity
  • changing the potential of cellular membranes
  • changes in the secretion of neurotransmitters, hormones and cytokinins

Due to its wide operation spectrum, laser can be effectively used to treat a whole range of ailments, including:

  • sport medicine
  • orthopaedics
  • rheumatology
  • neurology
  • dermatology

An important fact to be stressed here, however, is the lack of warming effect, which allows for using laser even in case of acute inflammatory conditions.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy consists in using various currents of therapeutic properties, direct or alternating, to order to treat a whole palette of medical ailments. Its effectiveness have been confirmed with years of experience, and thereby electrotherapy is commonly prescribed by one of the basic therapies, either a supporting one to ease the ailment, or to fight the illness off.
